HOMEOPATHY AND CANCER

When I was first introduced to homeopathic medicine thirty-years ago my awareness of the topic extended to the treatment of colds and flu, minor injuries, bug bites and other basic issues. It wasn’t until I entered a graduate program in the formal study of Homeopathy that I gained an appreciation for the depth and expanse of this complete system of medicine.

Stepping back to the beginning…

Homeopathy was discovered in Germany by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). Hahnemann was a German physician who stumbled upon the concept of substances from nature matching symptoms of illness when he was working to translate the writings of Dr. William Cullen in 1789. Dr. Cullen, one of the leading physicians of the era, had written about the use of Peruvian bark (Cinchona) in the treatment of Malaria. Cullen reasoned that its efficacy was due to its bitter and astringent properties. Hahnemann disputed Cullen’s deduction, since there were many plants that were bitter and astringent that did not affect the symptoms of Malaria.

Hahnemann decided to take the Peruvian bark himself, repeatedly, until he came down with fever, chills and other symptoms that mimicked Malaria. Hahnemann concluded that the reason Peruvian bark cured Malaria was not because it was a bitter astringent, but because it caused similar symptoms (like cures like) of the disease itself. This experiment proved to be the beginning of the development of Homeopathy as a science and system of medicine.

Homeopathy is the introduction of an artificial disease that neutralizes the natural disease.

A similar principle is used within some aspects of conventional medicine today, the most notable examples being the use of vaccines, anti-biotics and antidotes. Homeopathy however, utilizes much smaller doses of the original substance kept pure in manufacture and not mixed with other chemical components. As a result, there are no known side-effects.

Homeopathy, most importantly, treats the whole person based on their specific symptoms, rather than a “dis-ease.”

 Hahnemann went on to ‘prove’ over one hundred Homeopathic remedies carefully documenting the complete action of each substance in his Materia Medica Pura, as well as producing the Organon of the Healing Art. This important work is a detailed account of what he saw as the rationale of Homeopathic medicine and included many aspects of how true medical care should be practiced with specific guidelines presenting a revolutionary system of medicine.

 Hahnemann’s mantra was:

“Restore health and annihilate the whole, the entire disease, not SUPPRESS certain symptoms.”

The manner in which a remedy is chosen is unique to Homeopathy. There are specific dictates that set Homeopathic medicine apart from other systems of medicine:

• The manufacturing process is unique in that it includes numerous dilutions (creating different potencies or strengths) and succussing (shaking) of the organic substance to expand the energy of the base material.

(Homeopathic remedies carry the magnetism of the original organic matter it was created from and that magnetism moves forward the action of the remedy. The magnetism is released by force into water and alcohol through the succussion process.)

• A very small amount of the original material remains in the end product. What is left behind after dilution and succussion is the energetic signature.
• There is a ‘case taking’ method that embraces specific observation of the patient to determine which remedy best suits the individual mentally, emotionally and physically.
• The choice of remedy entails observing its action on the patient before changing potency or moving on to different remedies (if necessary).

Why am I telling you all this?

So there is no misunderstanding. Most lump Homeopathy into other categories of holistic practices…herbs, supplements, diets, essential oils, flower essences, and any number of other ‘natural’ protocols.

Homeopathy is in a class of its own as an entire system of medicine used by medical doctors and hospitals world-wide.

You are probably asking about now, “If this is true, then why do we hear and experience so little about Homeopathy?” Because America is the only country in the world that allows medicine for profit! This little-known fact was the work of President Richard Nixon and came about when he signed into law the Health Maintenance Organization Act of 1973. (Known as HMOA73.) As a result of the enactment of this bill medical insurance agencies, hospitals, clinics, and even doctors, could begin functioning as for-profit business entities (instead of the service organizations they were meant to be.) 

Unfortunately, so many years have passed since this turn of events that American society is completely unaware their medicine is not based on healing, but instead on profit!

Now that we have this model of medicine so deeply rooted in American culture, there is no room for a system of medicine such as Homeopathy that can quickly and efficiently help to uproot illness without suppression or causing side-effects. And most importantly, remedies cannot be patented (since they are made from natural substances) and are crazy inexpensive. (Usually under $10.00)

HOMEOPATHY and CANCER

My graduate studies did not impart much specific knowledge on the treatment of cancer. In the years of owning a clinic and seeing hundreds come through the door, we did not attract many diagnosed with cancer.

This, I believe, was due to two reasons. Firstly, there had been very little written about Homeopathic medicine and cancer treatment and secondly; once that cancer diagnosis comes down from a doctor, through fear, patients are literally sucked into the conventional system of surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation.

It is only in recent years, after nearly three-decades in the holistic health field that even I am experiencing the power of Homeopathy in the treatment of cancer.

Two major turning points…

The first was the publishing in 2013 of a book named, THE BANERJI PROTOCOLS, A New Method of Treatment with Homeopathic Medicines. This led to an awareness of the Banerji Clinic in Kolkata, India. The clinic consists of four generations of medical doctors who use state-of–the-art scientific testing methods; along with a modern diagnostic approach to the selection of Homeopathic remedies.

The first section of the book describes protocols for multiple types of cancers treated at the clinic. Their amazing statistics for success are explained through case studies, X-rays, CT scans, Histopathology biopsy scans and charts. Besides being published, the Banerji family of doctors have lectured at medical conferences around the world. Their data is collected and shared through their research foundation, the Dr. Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation (PBHRF).

Having the Banerji book as a roadmap for the use of remedies in a new and modern way has been a tremendous advancement to the two-hundred-thirty plus year history of Homeopathy.

The second breakthrough for Homeopathy and Cancer treatment is the publication of HOMEOPATHIC CANCER DRUGS, Oncology Materia Medica. Written by Manfred Mueller MA, DHM, RSHom(NA), CCH, this two-volume set of over 2,100 pages is the first time symptoms from the Homeopathic materia medica have been listed in the context of modern medical categories. This includes additions from current scientific research. It contains the broadest, most up-to-date, most complete, and most accurate array of data for practitioners to reliably select an effective remedy for the pathology of each individual case of cancer. Homeopathic Cancer Drugs is the first clinical materia medica written specifically with the Homeopathic oncologist in mind.

The combination of these two enormous bodies of work has brought the use of Homeopathic remedies in the treatment of cancer to a whole new level.

My first-hand experience with Homeopathy and Cancer…

Not too long ago, a thirty-six-year old man was brought to me for a consultation by his business partner. He had been diagnosed with 4^th stage stomach cancer and given 4-5 months to live. No treatment solutions were offered, no nutritional options, nothing…just sorry, go home and put your affairs in order!

He came in with his beautiful wife, who was terrified thinking he would be leaving them and not live to see their daughter grow up.

I immediately made numerous suggestions for dietary changes, recommended specific over-the-counter supplements and led him to one other supplement in particular. That supplement was Salvestrol™. I combined this with a Homeopathic protocol for stomach cancer.

Six weeks later he went back to his doctors for re-evaluation.  The doctors were shocked to see that his previous ‘inoperable’ stomach tumor had shrunk by two-thirds from its previous size. They were now confident they could perform surgery to remove the remaining tumor.

Within eight weeks of his ‘natural’ treatment he went from Stage 4 cancer to being declared Stage 1. His doctors said, “We don’t know what you are doing, but whatever it is, keep doing it!”

You might be asking, was it the dietary changes, the Salvestrol™, or the Homeopathic protocol that worked to shrink the tumor? My answer is, all three! The speed at which the recovery occurred was a result of quickly bringing his body back to an improved state of health from many directions.

Another case was a man in his sixties who was diagnosed with a malignant tumor on his right kidney. After our consultation he immediately started on a Homeopathic kidney protocol that I had suggested. His doctors had recommended surgery for the removal of the kidney. We had a bit of time to work on it however, since the surgery was scheduled for a number of weeks out.

When he did go to the hospital for the surgery he was given a routine chest X-ray. The X-ray unfortunately revealed a tumor on the right lung. Instead of kidney surgery, it became lung surgery, with the removal of the lung. He was sent home to heal.

I followed up with Homeopathic remedies to support healing from the surgery (Arnica & Hypericum), along with remedies to detox the anesthesia and other drugs.

A number of weeks later he was re-booked for the kidney surgery. By this time, he had been on the Homeopathic kidney protocol for nearly three months. When the surgery was performed he did not lose his kidney at all! In fact, the doctor said the tumor had shrunk considerably and they were able to remove it with little to no damage to the kidney.

SOME HOMEOPATHIC OPTIONS…

The following are examples of a few options, not only if you have a cancer diagnosis and looking outside the box of conventional medicine, but also solutions if you are following conventional treatment and looking for some relief from side-effects.

(All treatment should be undertaken under the guidance of a trained professional.)

Since breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed type of cancer, and the leading cause of cancer deaths among females throughout the world, I will start there. (This is an abbreviated list of remedies.)

BREAST CANCER PROTOCOL

• PHYTOLACCA 200C, two doses daily
• CARCINOSINUM 30C, one dose every other day

If there is not enough improvement add:

• CONIUM MACULATUM 3C, two doses per day

PROSTATE CANCER PROTOCOL

Unfortunately, many cases of ‘prostate cancer’ are misread and are instead Prostatitis (a benign prostatic hyperplasia, or inflammation).

THUJA 30C, four times daily + CARCINOSINUM 30C, one dose every other day

OR

MEDORRHINUM 200C, 2 doses daily + CANTHARIS 200C, 2 doses daily

OR

CONIUM 1000C in liquid, once per week + CARCINOSIN 30C, once every other day + Sabal Serrulata, mother tincture, two times daily

(A trained professional would know which protocol suits the person.)

RELIEF FROM CHEMOTHERAPY TREATMENT…

NAUSEA AND VOMITING

• ARSENICUM ALBUM- Burning, lancinating pains with weakness and debility. Better with warm drinks, aggravated by cold, restless with anxiety.
• CADMIUM SULPHURICUM- Intense retching, gagging, brings up tough mucus, least thing touching the lips excites vomiting. Black vomit.
• IPECACUANHA- Nausea as if proceeding from the stomach, with copious salivation. Persistent nausea and vomiting, gastro-intestinal disturbances and respiratory disorder. Heaviness of head, uneasiness with inclination to vomit.
• NUX VOMICA- Painful feeling of spasmodic contractions and regurgitation. Frequent, violent hiccough, urge to belch with some esophageal constriction. Worse with acids or fats, continual nausea, especially after eating or drinking.

WEIGHT LOSS

• ALFALFA- For those who suffer from malnutrition and diminished absorption of nutrients; tones up the appetite and digestion.
• ARSENICUM ALBUM- Affects violent, twisting pains in the abdomen, colic, cramping in bowels, pains about the naval, cutting bellyache. Great fear and worry about health.
• CADMIUM SULPHURICUM- Burning and cutting pain in the stomach, extreme exhaustion and prostration, especially in stomach cancer. Pitchy taste, everything tastes like salt.
• HYDRANGEA- Great thirst with abdominal symptoms, affects male and female genitals and can help to improve kidney stones.
• IPECACHUANA- Retches after drinking anything cold, sensation as if the stomach were empty and flaccid. Swelling in the region of the stomach.
• NUX VOMICA- Great flatulence, grumbling in stomach, pressure on anus and urinary organs. Possible hernia, swelling of inguinal glands, urging sensation with constipation.
